Our Network

“I just want to avail myself to help my community's businesses in the most beneficial ways.”

Vonesha Mitchell, Management Consultant & Trainer, Communities Unlimited

The Greater Memphis Chamber's Advice on Tap network consists of advisors who are experienced, well-established, business leaders in the community.

  • More than 50% of advisors have 25+ years of experience in their profession.
  • 75% of advisors have 11+ years of experience in their profession.
  • Half of all advisors in the Advice on Tap network report having their own mentor who helped them achieve success along the way.

Advisors are committed to offering a real look at what it means to create a scalable business. Their many lessons learned are now available to be shared. Plus, Advisors know the value of an advisor/advisee relationship because many of them had mentors themselves.

The Advisor Process

Advisors commit to six months of advising multiple advisees (maximum of four advisees per month). The Memphis Chamber helps forge the initial connection between Advisees who sign up for the program and the Advisors who are most suitable to their needs. From there, the Advisor and Advisee decide on the right timing for their monthly 30-minute phone call.

Why Become an Advisee?

As a small business owner or emerging entrepreneur, imagine being able to tap into the business intelligence of a seasoned professional. An Advice on Tap Advisor relationship gives you access to a massive network of local specialists and expertise. Each advisee is provided one consultation per month.

Eligibility

Advice on Tap is open to any Greater Memphis  small- and medium-sized businesses that are current members of the Chamber. Not yet a Chamber member? Please call 901-543-3500 and ask about small-business membership options.

Advice on Tap will be beneficial to small businesses because many do not have the resources available in areas such as business law, finance, marketing, and IT. The program’s one-on-one mentorship in any of these areas and more, will be a huge advantage to these companies. It will offer a sounding board to share ideas, and gain valuable insight from the professionals in their respective fields. I hope the Chamber will continue to develop programs like this because sharing ideas and knowledge will be a benefit to everyone.
